FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University's Employee Health & Benefits Fair will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Ballroom and Connections Lounge.

More than 75 vendors will offer employees information on topics addressing economic, family, mental and physical health, and individual development. Employees can also be entered into drawings to win door prizes.

Free health screenings and assessments will be offered, including: biometric screenings, blood pressure, glucose, vision, carpal tunnel screenings, cataract questionnaire, spinal screenings, flu shots and flu mist. A fee of $30 flu shot or $40 for flu mist cost paid by UMR for UMR participants; non-UMR participants may pay the fee by cash or check at the fair.

As a part of the university's wellness plan, biometric screenings will only be offered to employees and spouses on the university's health plan. These screenings include cholesterol, HDL, LDL, glucose, BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure check and a health coach review. Fasting 12 hours prior is recommended for accurate results. No appointment is necessary and the biometric screenings will satisfy one of the requirements to receive a $50 gift card with the university's wellness program administered by OnLife.

In addition, U of A student nurses will be offering glucose testing and blood pressure checks and employees do not need to be a UMR participant to receive the tests administered by the nurses.

The University Bookstore and many attending vendors have donated door prizes, including Razorbacks items, gift cards, exercise accessories and equipment, and more. For a chance to win a door prize, be sure to pick up a scavenger hunt form at the Human Resource information desk, complete the form by visiting the vendors indicated on the list, and turn it back in to the HR information desk. The Human Resources information desk is the first desk on the right as you walk into the Union Ballroom from the Connections Lounge.

For additional entries in the door prize drawings, like us on Twitter and Facebook either before or during the fair.
