U.S. Court of Appeals for Armed Forces to Hold Oral Arguments at School of Law

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces will hold oral arguments at the University of Arkansas School of Law at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the E.J. Ball Courtroom. The presentation is free and open to the public.

The oral arguments are presented as part of “Project Outreach," a military justice system program that visits a handful of law schools each year. Two current School of Law students will present arguments on an advisory basis in the case of United States v. Technical Sergeant Samuel A. Wicks, USAF.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces exercises worldwide appellate jurisdiction over members of the armed forces on active duty and other persons subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The court is composed of five civilian judges appointed for 15-year terms by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate. Appeals from rulings of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces are taken to the United States Supreme Court.
