FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Montine McNulty, a long-time supporter of the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas and a member of the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board, is being honored by the Arkansas Alumni Association this week.

McNulty is one of seven alumni receiving awards during the 69th annual Celebration of Excellence: 2013 Alumni Awards Dinner on Friday.

McNulty, who lives in Pine Bluff and works in Little Rock, earned her bachelor’s degree in education in 1968. She has been the executive director of the Arkansas Hospitality Association since 1997, serving the state’s restaurant, entertainment, lodging and tourism industries.

“Montine has done an outstanding job in her role with the hospitality industry in the state and she’s a wonderful supporter of the Bumpers College,” said Dean Mike Vayda. “The students, faculty and staff from our department of food, human nutrition and hospitality have a great friend in Montine. We are excited she has been recognized by the alumni association. She is very deserving and we congratulate her on this honor.”

McNulty is one of three recipients of the Citation of Distinguished Alumni award. The award is in recognition of exceptional professional and personal achievements, and extraordinary distinction in a specific field.

The other recipients are Mary Greenwood of Fayetteville and Lt. Gen. Marty Steele of Tampa, Fla. In addition, David Woolly of Alma and William Wooly of Little Rock are receiving the Andrew J. Lucas Alumni Service Award; Gene Fortson of Little Rock is receiving the Community Service Award; and Brandy Tuft of Fayetteville the Young Alumni Award.

The awards dinner is Friday at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center.
