This Week in the Visual and Performing Arts: Sept. 6-13
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences holds many events that feature the visual and performing arts. Each Friday, "This Week in the Visual and Performing Arts" will list the events for the following eight days. Students, faculty, staff and guests are encouraged to attend these on campus and off campus events.
The Razorback Marching Band will present their Beatles Show during half time at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock Saturday, Sept. 7.
Resplendent, an exhibition in the Fine Arts Center Gallery, will open on Monday, Sept. 9, and continue into October. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
A ceramic sculpture exhibit featuring guest artist Kate Blacklock will also open on Sept. 9 in the Fine Arts Center hallway exhibition cases. The pieces, along with works by university students and faculty, will be on display until Sept. 27.
Tim Thompson, professor of music, will give French horn recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the Fine Arts Center's Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. He will be joined by Marsha Thompson (narrator) and fellow faculty members Johan Botes (piano), Ronda Mains (flute) and Richard Rulli (trumpet).
The Spiritualist will continue its run until Sunday, Sept. 25. The world premiere of this original play by Robert Ford, visiting assistant professor of drama, may be seen Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Walton Arts Center's Nadine Baum Studios, 505 W. Spring Street in Fayetteville.
