Paula Konz, an academic adviser in the undergraduate programs office, has been named employee of the year by the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

Anyone in the college may nominate colleagues for an employee of the quarter award, which is given to employees who show superior customer service that enhances the image of the college, above and beyond the scope of that employee's job description. The employee of the year is selected from among the four employees of the quarter.

Konz was selected for the honor after being named Walton College's employee of the second quarter. Jason Adams, associate director of the Walton Honors program, was employee of the first quarter, and Arlene Press, program coordinator in the Supply Chain Management Research Center, was employee of the third quarter.

Shirley Thrash, fiscal support specialist in the Accounting Center, was named employee of the fourth quarter. Other employee of the fourth quarter nominees were Susan Anders, assistant director of the Global Engagement Office; Jason Campbell, human resource manager; Jeff Cooperstein, research assistant in the Center for Business and Economic Research; Mervin Jebaraj, research assistant in the Center for Business and Economic Research; and J.R. Hinkson, assistant director and academic adviser for transfer students in the Undergraduate Programs Office.

The winner of the award receives a certificate of appreciation and a cash prize. Winners are chosen by Walton College Dean Eli Jones, the associate deans, the assistant deans for undergraduate and graduate programs and the Walton College Staff Council.
