New UAPD Recruits Sworn in as Officers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Two new University of Arkansas Police Department officers were sworn in on Monday, March 25. Officer Wesley Copelin II and Officer Jesse Hensley have no previous law enforcement experience and have begun attending the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. Once they have successfully graduated from the Academy they will have to complete twelve weeks of the UAPD field training program before they are assigned to patrol campus.

Officer Copelin is from Mena, and has a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Arkansas Tech University.  He likes to mountain bike in his spare time.

Officer Hensley is from Conway and attended the University of Central Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force and did a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
