FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University Programs will host a live performance by acoustic singer and songwriter Jamie Lono on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in Au Bon Pain at the University of Arkansas Union.

This event is free to current University of Arkansas students through the student activities fee, and students must show university ID for entrance. Admission for general public is free and contingent upon seating availability. For special accommodations due to disability, please contact the Office of Student Activities, osa@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255.

Lono is an acoustic singer and songwriter as well as a former contestant and member of Cee-Lo Green’s team on the second season of NBC’s The Voice. After being fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to make an appearance on NBC’s second season of The Voice, Lono has returned back to his home of Chicago, Illinois to prepare for the release of his first EP album (due out late summer). Lono has many vocal inspirations such as Ray LaMontagne, Marc Broussard, Jack Johnson, Brett Dennen, Allen Stone, and more of the like in the blues/soul genre. The fuel and passion his hardships have given him come out pure and unique in his musical style. Lono takes the pain of the world and inserts it into his soulful tunes with hopes that the obstacles he once experienced will be relatable to his audience.

This event is sponsored by University Programs Coffeehouse Committee and is open to the public. For more information about Jamie Lono or other coffeehouse events, contact the Coffeehouse Committee chair Trista McVey at upcoffee@uark.edu or 479-575-5255. University Programs is a student run and funded organization within the office of student activities.
