Linda Sheets Art Exhibit: Last Week

University Programs host an art exhibit by artist Linda Sheets that will continue to run through Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Anne Kittrell Art Gallery, located in the University of Arkansas Union.

Linda Sheet’s style is truly her own. Her collages, free-form furniture, and found object constructions are reminiscent of Joseph Cornell and Louise Nevelson, with a healthy dash of folk art aesthetic. Her innovative approach to scratchboard as a medium, however, has set Linda into a class all her own. Her work can be seen in galleries, shows, and private collections around the country and was recently used to decorate the walls of the main characters home in the ABC drama The Lying Game. She will show scratchboard pieces from her new book Dog Scratchin’. Linda will donate 20 percent of her total sales to two animal rescue groups: Pet’s Sake in Springdale and the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.

This event is sponsored by University Programs Art Gallery Committee. For more information on Linda Sheets, please visit blue-eyedponystudio.com, or for more information on this event, contact University Programs Art Gallery coordinator Lana Hackler at upart@uark.edu or 479-575-5255.
