Supply Chain Professors Win Best Paper Award
Two supply chain professors in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas have won a prestigious award for their article published in the Journal of Business Logistics.
Matthew A. Waller and Brent D. Williams won the 2012 Bernard J. La Londe Best Paper Award for their article "Top-Down Versus Bottom-Up Demand Forecasts: The Value of Shared Point-of-Sale Data in the Retail Supply Chain." Waller is a professor and chair of the Department of Supply Chain Management at the Walton College and holds the Garrison Endowed Chair in Supply Chain Management. Williams is an assistant professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management.
The award is given to the authors of the most valuable paper presented in the Journal of Business Logistics, the leading academic journal in logistics and supply chain management. Williams and Waller received the award at the annual global conference of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals in Atlanta.
