Holt Elected to National Position with Educational Leadership Association
Carleton Holt, University of Arkansas associate professor of educational leadership, was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration.
Holt will serve a three-year term through the 2014-15 academic year.
The National Council of Professors of Educational Administration was established in 1947, making it the oldest organization in the United States representing professors of educational administration. The educational administration program at the University of Arkansas is now called educational leadership.
Holt joined the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 1999. He won the college’s faculty award for outstanding advising in 2009-10. He also was named an outstanding faculty member by the Associated Student Government in 2011. He is the author of a textbook titled School Bond Success: A Strategy for Building America's Schools that is in its third edition.
The National Council of Professors of Educational Administration serves the interests and needs of professors and practicing school leaders, offering professional development through publications and conferences.
The executive board on which Holt is serving meets annually in person and also conducts business on a monthly basis with online web conferencing.
