FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The department of music in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences has announced that it will be adding soprano vocalist Moon-Sook Park to its faculty this fall. As an assistant professor, Park will teach studio voice at all levels.

“We are very excited about Dr. Park joining the Fulbright family,” said Ronda Mains, professor of music and chair of the department. “Her extensive training and experience from around the world will enrich our students’ musical experiences.”

Park’s vocal talent has earned her high praise as she has traveled the world performing more than 200 solos. She has been invited to sing in concert halls across Europe, Asia and the United States, appearing in famous venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Slovakia National Theater in Bratislava and Basel Concert Hall in Switzerland.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to come to Arkansas and work with such talented colleagues,” said Park. “Many accomplished vocalists have come from this program, and I look forward to helping to train young voices to be the best performers they can become.”

Park joins the Fulbright College faculty from Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she has taught in the School of Music and Fine Arts since 2003. Prior to her time at Palm Beach Atlantic, Park taught vocal classes at Hanguk Conservatory, Kyungwon University, Seoul National University, Sejong University and Long Island University. She has served as an adjudicator for numerous vocal competitions in the United States and Korea.

Park earned a bachelor of music in voice and music education from the Seoul National University (1981) and a Certificate of Sacred Music from the Seoul Catholic Diocese (1981). She continued her vocal training in Europe, attending fine arts institutes in Freiburg, Germany; Stuttgart, Germany; Saarbrucken, Germany; and Milan, Italy. Park received her doctorate of musical arts in voice performance from the University of Cincinnati (2010).
