Donald Wleklinski, University of Arkansas clinical instructor of nursing, will speak Aug. 18 about "Positive Effects of the Outdoors on Children and Adults" during the Ozark Society Celebration in Bentonville.

The Ozark Society is celebrating several milestones: its 50th anniversary, the 40th anniversary of the Buffalo National River’s naming as America’s first national river and what would be the 100th birthday of the late Neil Compton, a Bentonville physician and conservationist instrumental in the national designation of the Buffalo.

Wleklinski gives talks about how experiencing nature is vital to both physical and emotional health. He will speak at 11 a.m. at the Compton Gardens and Conference Center, 312 N. Main St. in Bentonville. The talk is free and open to the public.

More information about exhibits and the rest of the program is available at the Ozark Society's website.
