International Wisdom at Work Conference Focuses on Faith, Spirituality in Organizational Life

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2012 International Wisdom at Work Conference will gather scholars and business leaders from all over the globe Oct. 31-Nov. 1 to explore how faith and spirituality provide meaning and purpose to work and organizational life.

Early registration for the conference is open until Aug. 27 at a reduced fee of $345. After Aug. 27, online registrations will be accepted until Oct. 26 at the regular price of $395. The conference is sponsored by the Tyson Center for Faith and Spirituality in the Workplace of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and co-sponsored by the Academy of Business in Society.

Conference participants include leaders from industry, academia and many different spiritual traditions. Keynote speakers for the 2012 conference include:

  • James Autry, retired chief executive officer of Meredith corporation
  • Andre Delbecq, the J. Thomas and Kathleen McCarthy University Professor at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University
  • J. Robert Ouimet, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Holding O.C.B. Inc., Cordon Bleu International Ltd. and Piazza Tomasso International Inc.
  • Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, research professor at Yale University and chairman and chief executive officer of Global Fiduciary Governance LLC
  • Gilbert Lessen, president of the Academy of Business in Society and professor of management at Leiden University.
