Student Sustainability Blog Competition Kickoff

The Quality Writing Center and the office for campus sustainability are proud to announce the Green Blogger Competition. It is a 90-day blog competition for University of Arkansas students.

Students from every college are encouraged to build a WordPress site, blog about sustainability issues, and visit the QWC to sharpen their writing skills. While this competition would be a great project for those enrolled in the Foundations of Sustainability minor, it is open to all majors and minors across the campus.

“We hope to expand the sustainability dialogue and encourage systems based thinking and problem solving. Let’s put it all on the table and see how students can connect the dots,” said Carlos Ochoa, interim director of the office for campus sustainability.

All contestants must register to be considered for the grand prize. They will then receive instructions on how to create a Word Press account. They will also receive periodic updates leading up to the beginning of the competition and throughout its completion.

The Quality Writing Center and the office for campus sustainability are actively seeking participants beginning in April through the beginning of the fall semester.

The competition will begin Sept. 3 and end Dec. 1. To be kept in the loop and be considered for the grand prize of $500, students must register. Space is limited, so please act soon!
