Three University of Arkansas professors will receive awards at the annual conference of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, which will take place in Orlando, Florida on May 19-23.
Ronald Rardin, distinguished professor of industrial engineering and holder of the John and Mary Lib White Systems Integration Endowed Chair, will receive the David F. Baker Distinguished Research Award, which is the highest research award given for career achievement in the industrial engineering profession.
Richard Cassady, professor of industrial engineering, and Manuel Rossetti, professor and holder of the John L. Imhoff Endowed Chair in the department of industrial engineering, will receive the IIE Fellow Award signifying the highest level of membership in the institute. This award is bestowed to leaders who have made significant, nationally recognized contributions to industrial engineering.
“These three professors are very deserving of this recognition,” said Kim Needy, head of the department of industrial engineering and holder of the Twenty-First Century Professorship in Engineering. “Arkansas will be in the spotlight at our national conference this May.”
