FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Hip hop recording artist Kid Cudi will take the stage at Barnhill Arena at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 29, as the Spring 2012 Headliner Concert. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students can obtain free tickets in a two-step process:

  1. Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, students can reserve one free ticket online at http://osa.uark.edu, where they will find instructions to reserve tickets. Student online reservations will be open until Friday, April 13, at noon. 
  2. Students who reserved tickets can pick them up in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge Monday through Wednesday, April 16-18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students must present their valid University of Arkansas student ID in order to pick up their ticket (The ID will be scanned). Only one ticket is allowed per University of Arkansas student ID. Students can pick up their one free ticket and may present another valid student ID to pick up another student’s reserved ticket. Both tickets must be reserved through the online process described above.

Students unable to pick up the ticket during the scheduled distribution times should email osa@uark.edu no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, to arrange an alternative pickup option to avoid losing the reserved ticket.

The general public may be able to purchase tickets starting April 23, at 10 a.m., from the Walton Arts Center web site, but only if University of Arkansas students do not use all tickets. If public tickets are available they will cost $37.50 for the floor and $31.50 for general admission seats.

All show seating is general admission, so there are no assigned seats. Some floor tickets (standing throughout the show) are also available. Any individuals needing special accommodations due to disabilities should contact the Office of Student Activities at 575-5255.

Kid Cudi is an American alternative hip hop recording artist, singer-songwriter, guitarist and actor from Cleveland based in Brooklyn. He first gained major attention after the release of his debut mix tape A Kid Named Cudi. His career took off after he moved to Brooklyn and became affiliated with Fool's Gold, the label of DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs. The label released the Day 'n' Nite EP in February 2008 and circulated a Crookers remix around the blogosphere, drumming up a good deal of buzz in the process.

The Headliner Concerts Committee is a student-led organization created by the Associated Student Government and approved by the university’s student body to bring major name acts to the University of Arkansas campus. Past concerts include John Mayer, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Dierks Bentley, Snoop Dogg, and Blake Shelton. Headliner Concerts are funded through a student activity fee.
