Kelly Lamb, February Student Leader of the Month

Kelly Lamb is February’s Student Leader of the Month from Lee’s Summit, Mo. She is double majoring in economics and political science. Kelly is actively involved as the Chi Omega president, Greek Life Facilitators president, University of Arkansas Booster Club, and Young Democrats.

She also volunteers for American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Club of America, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Make A Wish Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. She became involved in these clubs and organizations to become better acclimated to the university and Fayetteville.

Coming from out of state and knowing very few people, she felt overwhelmed when she first arrived to the U of A. However, once she became involved in a few organizations she loved meeting all different individuals from all aspects of the campus and community and Arkansas felt more like home. She believes integrity and determination are important qualities of a leader.

Her advice to other leaders is “Insure that you do not over program yourself. I enjoy my leadership positions considerably more when I can devote the necessary attention to them rather than spreading myself thin.”

Her mentor is Kayln Williams. She is one of Kelly’s best friends and a senior business major at the U of A. She admires Kayln’s devotion and involvement at the university and her optimistic view of life. Kelly’s most memorable Razorback moment was studying abroad with the Walton College of Business in Dangriga, Belize this past summer.

The Student Leader of the Month award recognizes a University of Arkansas undergraduate student for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement leadership activities or through volunteer and community service programs.
