Fans Invited to Premiere of '40 Minutes of Hell'

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Fans are invited to the world premiere of 40 Minutes of Hell, an ESPNU film on former University of Arkansas head coach Nolan Richardson and the Razorback basketball program, on Feb. 11 at Bud Walton Arena following the Razorbacks’ game against South Carolina.

Those fans attending the Arkansas-South Carolina game, on Saturday, Feb. 11, are invited to join coach Richardson, coach Mike Anderson, current and former Razorback men’s basketball players and staff members and special guests for the film’s debut after the game. A ticket to the Arkansas-South Carolina game is required for attendance to the game and the film premiere. The Razorbacks and Gamecocks are scheduled to tip off at 12:30 p.m.

“We want to invite the Razorback Nation to join us for this very special day as we cheer on our men’s basketball team and celebrate the championship history of our program,” said Jeff Long, vice chancellor and director of athletics. “It is fitting to premiere this movie in Bud Walton Arena, the home to our passionate Razorback fans and so many of our program’s greatest moments. We hope fans will join us in welcoming coach Richardson and our former Razorbacks back to Bud Walton Arena for the game and the premiere of 40 Minutes of Hell.”

The film will be shown on the video boards on the Bud Walton Arena scoreboard following normal post-game festivities and a short premiere ceremony. The film runs approximately 48 minutes.

The film, produced by NASCAR Media Group and directed by Kenan Harris-Holley, includes interviews with former President Bill Clinton, Richardson himself, former Arkansas Chancellor John White and current Arkansas coach Mike Anderson. Players Corliss Williamson, Scotty Thurman, Corey Beck, Al Dillard, Ken Biley and John Engskov contribute to the film, as well as radio announcer Mike Nail, author Rus Bradburd and ESPN’s Dick Vitale and Ryan McGee.

The project, which has already drawn excitement from Arkansas fans after its trailer was released earlier in the month, is a part of the SEC Storied series. Previous SEC Storied films include one on Georgia’s Herschel Walker and one on the inaugural SEC Championship football game between Florida and Alabama. The broadcast debut of 40 Minutes of Hell will be Saturday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
