Bumpers College Liaison Named to National Agriculture Board

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Trina Holman has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association. She will serve a term of two years as the committee chair for membership and also serves on the strategic planning committee.

Blake Bard, Bumpers College director of development, serves on the association's education committee.

The National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., has a mission to provide education and support for professionals, volunteers and student leaders who are dedicated to expanding the human resources and financial support for land-grant colleges of agricultural sciences and related programs. Holman will help ensure that the expectations and needs of the current membership are met and facilitate the recruitment of new members at all membership levels.

 “I am very excited about this opportunity to serve NAADA as membership chair. It is an honor for me to represent the Bumpers College and the University of Arkansas,” Holman said.

Holman has been with the University of Arkansas since July 2007. In her current work as liaison for alumni, development and recruiting for the Bumpers College, Holman serves as the director of the Bumpers College Alumni Society coordinating alumni sponsored events, board meetings and outreach activities and facilitating communications between alumni and external stakeholders with college personnel. She also assists the director of development in maintaining donor stewardship and cultivation and overseeing the management of college gift records, reports and correspondence.

Holman began at the university as a proof editor in the agricultural communications department. She moved to the office of the dean in March 2008 as an assistant for development and recruiting and was promoted to her current position in July 2010. Her previous work experience includes working at the Arkansas Press Association as creative services manager. Prior to that, she was the special sections editor for the Batesville Daily Guard newspaper. Holman and her husband Lance live in Farmington. They have four children. The oldest is a freshman engineering major at the University of Arkansas.
