Blackboard Learn Solutions Recommended

Some users have reported web browser problems when using Blackboard Learn. The following information describes these problems and the solutions recommended by IT Services.

Windows:

In the latest version of Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft removed the progress indicator. When a user clicks Submit in a Blackboard Learn course, there is no indication that the information was submitted, causing users to click twice. If the user clicks Submit a second time, an error can occur and information can be lost. IT Services recommends that users install Firefox or Chrome to avoid this problem.

Mac:

Mac Safari and Firefox users are now required to install a PDF plug-in to view embedded PDFs. However, there is currently not an available Adobe plug-in that is compatible with the latest versions of Mac OS X. A patch was applied Thursday morning that provides students with a direct link to download PDF files. For other problems accessing Blackboard Learn content, IT Services recommends users try Chrome or Firefox.

IT Services requests that users report Blackboard Learn issues to the Blackboard Support Line at 575-6804.
