University of Arkansas Graduate Terry Vo Named to Nashville's Top 30 Under 30

Terry Vo, a 2007 graduate of the University of Arkansas, is being honored on Sept. 24 as one of Nashville's Top 30 Under 30 honorees for 2011.

Terry Vo, originally from Fort Smith, Ark., has been added to the 2001 list of Nashville's Top 30 Under 30, a benefit of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation that honors the next generation of philanthropists in Nashville, Tenn.

Vo graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations and a minor in Asian studies and Japanese.

She relocated to Nashville after working in Japan for two years to work in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program and be the scholarship coordinator for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology at the consulate-general of Japan. The consulate-general of Japan covers the five-state area of Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Vo serves as the president of the Music City JET Alumni Association, vice president of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, and chairwoman for the upcoming Mothers Against Drunk Driving inaugural event MADD About Tea. She volunteers her time as a Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee, project manager for the Frist Center for the Visual Arts Connecting Cultures: Children’s Stories from Across the World Exhibition, and lunch buddy at Fall-Hamilton Advanced Option School.

Vo is the 2011 Arkansas Cherry Blossom Princess and was a finalist for the Government and Public Affairs Industry Nashville Emerging Leader Award for 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, attending live performances and is an avid traveler, climbing the Great Wall of China and Mount Fuji.
