Fulbright Peace Fountain to Undergo Maintenance
The Fulbright Peace Fountain will be turned off to undergo maintenance through Sept. 24. During the maintenance period, the water will be turned off so facilities management employees can conduct a detailed maintenance that is necessary only every four to six years, depending on the life the sealants used inside the fountain.
"This particular shutdown doesn’t happen that often," said Kevin Shackleford, the university's construction coordinator. "We do have several shut downs from time to time for routine maintenance but they typically are for only a hour or two and that happens about once a month."
