Tim Nutt Appointed to Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission

Tim Nutt, assistant head of the University Libraries special collections department, has been appointed to serve on the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission.

The 86th Arkansas General Assembly established the commission to promote observances of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War and explore the impact the war had on the state and people of Arkansas. The mission is to tell the story of the Civil War in a way that is comprehensive, inclusive and educational.

The legislation specified the appointment of 15 members representing various organizations, including the Arkansas Historical Association, of which Nutt is vice-president and president-elect.
