Walton College Announced Winner at Sonic Foundry’s Rich Media Impact Awards
The Technology Center’s Media Support Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business has won a Rich Media Impact Award for the Prolific Use Category. Sonic Foundry Inc., the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, announced the winners at special awards ceremonies during UNLEASH 2011, the fourth annual Mediasite user conference, and live webcasts via Mediasite to a global virtual audience.
“We are extremely proud that all of our hard work has been recognized by the people at Sonic Foundry,” said Jim Goodlander, associate director of technology for Walton College. “We have always tried to expand the use of this rich media technology outside the normal classroom lecture capture by using it for a variety of events, training and promotion. This award made us realize that this vision was absolutely going in the right direction for everyone at the college.”
Launched to recognize excellence in the practical and original integration of Sonic Foundry’s webcasting platform in education, business, health and government, the Rich Media Impact Awards honor organizations that have demonstrated measurable improvements in accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity through Mediasite.
"Every year we are more amazed by how far programs like the Walton College drive innovation for webcasting growth. This year's winners have taken their rich media programs through an evolutionary process, from initial proof of concept within their organizations, to working models that have transformed the way employees are trained, ROI is achieved and knowledge is transferred," said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry. "We congratulate them on joining more than 100 organizations from around the world that have been honored with a Rich Media Impact Award."
The Walton College’s award-winning Mediasite presentation is showcased on the Sonic Foundry website, and will be featured in advertising in the June/July issue of Streaming Media magazine. The awards ceremonies can be viewed at the Sonic Foundry awards site.
