Student Leader of the Week: David Heath
David Heath Stephens is the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement's Student Leader of the Week for April 3-9.
Heath is from Fayetteville, Ark., and is majoring in food, human nutrition and hospitality in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
Heath is involved in the Off Campus Connections Student Advisory Board and the Hospitality Club. As a non-traditional student, David felt it was important to get involved, trying to make the non-traditional experience the best it can be.
Heath finds the ability to see the potential in other people and to be able to bring that potential as a key characteristics of a leader. “Be honest. I have worked for many people in my life and the ones I respected the most were the people who were completely honest with me, for better or worse.” Heath explained.
Heath's most memorable Razorback moment was the day he received his acceptance letter to the U of A after 12 years out of school.
His favorite quote is from Greek Proverb: “All things good to know are difficult to learn.”
