Female Participants With History of Physical Violence Needed for Research Study

The Intervention Sciences Laboratory in the department of psychology is looking for female adults with a history of physical violence and who are interested in participating in a research study designed to understand emotional responses to abuse or assault experiences. The knowledge gained from this study will be applied to improving treatments for victims of sexual and physical violence.

Potentially relevant experiences include any of the following:

  • Domestic or relational violence
  • Physical abuse or assault
  • Being mugged, attacked or beaten
  • Being shot, stabbed, or held at gun- or knife-point

This study involves one three-and-a-half- to four-hour visit into the laboratory and will involve an interview with a researcher, completion of questionnaires, and administration of a laboratory-based imagery task. Participants will be compensated $30 upon completion of the study.

Participation requires a brief telephone screening to determine eligibility. If you are interested, please contact Christal at the Intervention Sciences Laboratory at 479-575-5811 or cbadour@uark.edu.

This study will be ongoing throughout the semester, and appointments are flexible to accommodate participants' schedules, including evenings and weekends.
