New E-mail Scam Targets University Users

The most recent phishing scam to hit the university tells users they must provide their usernames, passwords, and phone numbers via e-mail in order to avoid losing their accounts. This fraudulent e-mail claims to be signed by Vickie Duncan in Silas Hunt Hall, making the e-mail request appear convincing. IT Services will NEVER ask for this information in an e-mail. Those who have responded to this scam should go to http://passweb.uark.edu and reset their account password immediately.

IT Services never notifies university users of account errors or maintenance through e-mail to individual accounts, however users can expect to receive individual reminders to change their passwords through PASSweb.
