Life Cycle Assessment Firm Quantis Joins Sustainability Consortium
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Quantis, a consulting firm that specializes in life cycle assessment, has joined the Sustainability Consortium to support the organization’s research-based work to improve the sustainability of products through all stages of the product’s life cycle. The Sustainability Consortium, co-directed by the University of Arkansas and Arizona State University, is an independent organization of diverse global participants ranging from consumer product manufacturers, retailers, service providers and non-governmental organizations.
“Quantis believes that the work of the Sustainability Consortium is essential in making life cycle thinking a reality in the private sector and throughout its supply chain,” said Yves Loerinick, chief executive officer of Quantis International. “Its work fits perfectly with our belief that life cycle knowledge and skills are indispensable for our society to achieve a sustainable future. We are thrilled to join this organization and to bring our scientific and operational expertise in (life cycle assessment) to the table.”
“Quantis brings a great deal of sustainability expertise to the consortium,” said Jon Johnson, co-director of the consortium and executive director of the University of Arkansas Applied Sustainability Center. “As advisers in the field of life cycle assessment, they understand what strategies and approaches lead to improvements for organizations, and they will be a great resource for all the organizations already involved in the consortium.”
Life cycle assessment is a powerful tool based on solid scientific foundations. However, it is in constant evolution on many fronts, for example, in improving methodologies and data quality, in broadening the scope of environmental and social impact categories, as well as in improving operational aspects and reducing costs. In order to foster the power of life cycle assessment, Quantis believes it is necessary to be at the leading edge of operational and scientific developments. Through its membership with the Sustainability Consortium, Quantis will bring its deep operational experience in working with large- and medium-size businesses throughout the supply chain, as well as its scientific expertise built through collaboration with leading life cycle assessment research centers and international bodies.
