"Stormy Passions" opens University Symphony Orchestra Season

Jura Margulis,soloist in Tchaikovsky’s 1st piano concerto

The University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Robert Mueller, will open its season on Oct. 11th with "Stormy Passions," a concert of Romantic masterpieces. The concert will feature Jura Margulis as the soloist in Tchaikovsky's 1st piano concerto. Margulis holds the McAllister Endowed Professorship in Piano at the University of Arkansas, and has been described by the Washington Post as a musician with "titanic reserves of sheer power." The orchestra will also perform Beethoven's 6th Symphony, known as the "Pastorale."

The concert is at the Walton Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance at the Walton Arts Center. For the box office, call 479-443-5600
