Snoop Dogg to Perform at University of Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Rapper Snoop Dogg will hit the Barnhill Arena stage at 8 p.m., Sunday Oct. 24. This concert is being held by the University of Arkansas Headliner Concerts Committee, which means there are a limited number of free tickets for students. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
“For this concert we are handling ticket distribution to students a little differently, “ said Mary Coonley, director of student activities. “Students will use an online reservation system to reserve their free tickets for the show, and will then pick them up on campus Oct. 14.”
Starting at 9 a.m. Monday students should visit the student activities website at http://osa.uark.edu/ where they will find instructions to reserve their tickets. The show is all general admission, so there are no assigned seats. Ticket distribution for students will be held Thursday, Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge.
Tickets for the general public will be sold for $29.50 each through the Walton Arts Center starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Snoop Dogg is described in his press materials as “Iconic in stature and in essence, Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. has carved out a permanent place in musical history. Undeniably, the rapper, producer, actor, entrepreneur, coach, husband and father affectionately called Snoop Dogg, has performed the most unique balancing act that hip hop has ever witnessed. Never short on vision, drive or ambition, the sharp talking wordsworth has managed to redefine and reinvent himself over the course of his 15-year career, each time revealing a distinctive cache from the depths within. His rhythmic cadences are classic in nature and his demeanor is as laid back and effortless as the brand extensions he has created for himself.”
The Headliner Concerts Committee is a student-led organization created by the Associated Student Government and approved by the university’s student body to bring major name acts to the University of Arkansas campus. Past concerts include John Mayer, Foo Fighters and Dierks Bentley
