Medical Ethics Subject of “One Book, One Community” Lecture

Micah Hester, associate director of the division of medical humanities at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, will make a presentation on the subject of medical and research ethics at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main.

Hester is an associate professor of medical humanities and pediatrics at UAMS, as well as a clinical ethicist at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

His lecture is entitled "Beyond Henrietta Lacks: Historical Ethical Issues in Medicine and Research."

Hester's presentation is part of the One Book, One Community project. The lecture is open to the public. Everyone reading and discussing The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot, as part of the One Book, One Community project, is especially encouraged to attend.
