Chase Stoudenmire, right, a former student of Ketevan Mamiseishvili, will go to her home country of Georgia later this year on a Fulbright grant.

Chase Stoudenmire, a recent graduate of the University of Arkansas, has been named a Fulbright U.S. Student Grantee and will teach English in the Republic of Georgia. Stoudenmire earned a master's degree in higher education this spring from the College of Education and Health Professions and is now a graduate student in the history department in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

In addition to teaching, Stoudenmire will conduct an independent research project while in the former Soviet Socialist Republic. He's working on a proposal in which he would study the civic behavior of young Georgians upon their return from studying abroad in the United States.

Stoudenmire also served as a student ambassador for the Graduate School last year, as a member of the search committee for a dean of the College of Education and Health Professions and on the Graduate Dean's Student Advisory Board. His undergraduate degree is in history from the University of South Carolina.
