The department of animal science hosted its annual awards and scholarship luncheon in the atrium of the Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences Building on Wednesday, April 14.

ANSC instructor Bryan Kutz emceed the event. Keith Lusby, ANSC department head, began the celebration by announcing that more than $50,000 in scholarships had been awarded this year to students in the department. Faculty members Rorie, Rosenkrans, Brown and Kutz served on the scholarship committee.

Following a catered lunch, Lusby presented department awards of distinction. Each year, the department honors individuals in the categories below in recognition of their lifelong accomplishments and contributions to their industry and to their university.

Awards were presented to the following:

  • Advanced Graduate of Distinction: Doyne Potts, of Batesville.
  • Graduates of Distinction: Mike Hamilton, of Cabot, and Michael Simon, of Conway.
