Walton College Students Win First Place at Regional Beta Alpha Psi

Three Walton College accounting students won first place at the Beta Alpha Psi Southwest regional meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Beta Alpha Psi is the student honor society that recognizes outstanding academic achievements in the fields of accounting, finance and information systems.

Laura Akin, Cassaundra Drake and Paige Gray represented the Walton College in the Best Practices - Chapter Sustainability Contest where they placed first in a very competitive seven-way contest. They will represent the University of Arkansas at the Beta Alpha Psi Annual Meeting in San Jose, Calif., in August. Charles Leflar, a clinical associate professor who holds the BKD Lectureship in Accounting, is the faculty adviser for Beta Alpha Psi.
