UPDATE: Three in Custody for Nov. 3 Drive-By Shooting Incident on Campus

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — All three people wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting near the University of Arkansas campus are in custody. Two men were arrested at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in separate traffic stops. University of Arkansas Police arrested John Chanthavong, 18, of Fayetteville, after Fayetteville Police stopped Chanthavong during a traffic stop on Arkansas Highway 16 west near North Salem Road. A few minutes later, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Felipe Ibarra, 18, of Fayetteville, in a separate traffic stop. They were both arrested without incident.

The attorney of the third man surrendered his client, Ysmael "Ish" Aguilar, 18, also of Fayetteville, to University of Arkansas Police at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, without incident.

All three men were being held in the Washington County Jail on charges of committing a terrorist act. Chanthavong is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, felony offense. None of the three men involved is a student at the University of Arkansas.

University of Arkansas Police were called to the Sigma Chi Fraternity House at the corner of Maple Street and Gregg Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 3, following a report of a drive-by shooting on campus. No one was injured in the incident. Witnesses told police that three uninvited, unidentified persons entered the house during a party and were escorted out of the fraternity house by members. A short time afterward three shots were fired in the direction of people who were standing in the breezeway on the east side of the house along Gregg Avenue.
