UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS - OCTOBER 26, 2001

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas will kick off the Campaign for the Twenty-First Century at a public rally at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26 on the plaza between Mullins Library and the Arkansas Union on the UA campus. The working goal of the Campaign will be announced at this time.

The announcement will be brief and the rain location will be the Arkansas Union Ballroom.

In attendance will be University of Arkansas students, faculty, staff, administration and members of the Campaign Steering Committee. Also in attendance will be the Razorback Band, cheerleaders, pom squad and mascots.

Speakers include:

  • John A. White, chancellor
  • G. David Gearhart, vice chancellor for University Advancement
  • Trent Goins, president Associated Student Government
  • Elliott West, Distinguished Professor of History
  • Tommy Boyer, 1964 alumnus of the Sam M. Walton College of Business

A $300 prize will be awarded to the winner of the student Campaign banner competition.

A mult-box will be available for broadcast media.
