UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS TO BRING MERITS OF CAMPUS LIFE AND ACADEMICS TO STUDENTS IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —The University of Arkansas is hosting a recruitment jamboree for prospective students and their families from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Embassy Suites Hotel (11301 Financial Centre Parkway in Little Rock.

The University will to provide prospective students with information needed to make informed decisions about the opportunities offered at the University of Arkansas.

Chancellor John A. White, who will headline the event and will be available to speak one-on-one with students and their parents. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity tto meet with Johnetta Cross Brazzell, vice-chancellor for Student Affairs, and Arlene Cash, dean for Enrollment Services.

The seven undergraduate schools and colleges of the University of Arkansas-agricultural, food and life sciences; architecture; arts and sciences; business; education and health professions; engineering; and the new University of Arkansas Honors College-will staff information booths and have representatives available to meet individually with students about the various areas of study offered at the University.

UA admissions officers will be on site to provide additional information and talk one-on-one with guests. Representatives also will be available to provide information about other aspects of the University, including financial aid and scholarships, housing, study abroad, Greek life, campus activities and other aspects of the college experience. Guests will also have the opportunity to ask questions of a panel of University of Arkansas students.

The University also will hold drawings for four $100 gift certificates to be used at the University of Arkansas Bookstore.

Families are encouraged to attend, bringing with them not only high school juniors and seniors, but younger brothers and sisters who might be interested in someday attending the University of Arkansas.
