University of Arkansas Police Department to Host Seventh Annual "Discovering Safety" Program

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas Police Department will partner with local emergency response agencies to host the 7th annual "Discovering Safety" program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 12, at Bud Walton Arena.

Photographs and fingerprinting of children will be taken for safety records, and additional safety information will be available, courtesy of local and national businesses.

Weather permitting, outdoor displays will include the Air Evac Life team, patrol cars from various Northwest Arkansas agencies, ambulances, fire trucks, and the Washington County Search and Rescue Dive Team and K-9 units.

Informative displays will be provided by The Eye Center, Arkansas Poison Control Center, NWA Rape Crisis and Arkansas Western Gas Company, and McGruff the Crime Dog will be on hand. Refreshments will be available throughout the event.
