University of Arkansas Names Mock Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas and the Division of Student Affairs are pleased to announce that Robert Mock has been named the new assistant vice chancellor for Student Affairs. Mock joined the university on Dec. 1.

The assistant vice chancellor for student affairs supervises units including the Enhanced Learning Center (Student Support Services), First Year Experience Programs (Orientation, ROCK Camps and Convocation), International Students and Scholars, Off Campus Connections, and Pre-College Programs (College Project, Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Math/Science Academy, Veterans Upward Bound, REAL Upward Bound, Gifted and Talented Scholars).

“I am absolutely ecstatic about working with Dr. Mock,” said Johnetta Cross Brazzell, vice chancellor for student affairs. “The contributions he will make toward the success of our students will be outstanding.”

“I am excited, humbled and filled with pride as I prepare to contribute to the long tradition of excellence within the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas,” Mock said.

Mock has more than a decade of professional experience including four years of coordination among three different institutions of higher education in Arkansas (University of Arkansas, UALR and Arkansas State University) Prior to joining the university, he served as the student services division chief and director of recruitment and retention for UALR. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Southern Illinois University; a master's in interpersonal and organizational communication, and a doctorate in higher education administration, both from UALR.
