FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Friday, May 2, the Talent Search programs at the University of Arkansas will be hosting “Campus Day 2008: Your Story Begins.” Approximately 2,200 students, in grades 6-12, representing schools from northwest Arkansas, northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri, will attend.

The fun-filled day will be held at various venues across campus. Students will begin arriving at 9 a.m. with the event kicking-off at Bud Walton Arena at 9:30 a.m. Departmental presentations and campus tours will take place from 10:30 a.m. until noon. From noon until 1 p.m., lunch and entertainment will be provided at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre.

Campus Day at the University of Arkansas is one of the most exciting days of the year for Pre-College Programs as prospective students get the opportunity to explore the campus in-depth. Campus administrators, student volunteers, faculty, alumni and numerous departments will create an engaging and festive atmosphere for all attending. Most importantly, participants will be exposed to future opportunities that await them as students at the University of Arkansas.

“Campus Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to set foot on a college campus and see that higher education is an obtainable goal after high school,” said Matt Hargis, associate director of admissions.

Educational Talent Search, College Project and University Access are three of nine programs in the Division of Student Affairs that are administered by Pre-College Programs. The programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Education to promote college entry and skills necessary for the successful completion of a post-secondary education.
