Sustainability in Action

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Sustainability Speaker Series present three global experts who will talk about their sustainable business practices. Their presentation will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the university campus. It the third in a series of speakers on sustainability and is open to the public.

The program is sponsored by the Supply Chain Management Research Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.

The panel includes:

  • Vijay Sharma, business head of Project Shakit, Hindustan Lever Inc., will discuss how business objectives and social development objectives can be aligned and how innovation in business processes can help achieve a sustainable way to do the same. He has 10 years of sales and marketing with Hindustan Lever.
  • Jack Linard, scientific and regulatory affairs, Research and Development, Unilever will address Unilever and sustainable agriculture: growing for the future. He holds a doctorate in inorganic chemistry from Northwestern University.
  • David Pendlington, sustainable agriculture coordinator, Unilever, Rotterdam, Netherlands, will address formulation and packaging issues for Unilever globally. He provides support, guidance and facilitation to all of Unilever’s global sustainable activities.
