Student Group Launches Latest Design/Build Project
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — This Saturday students in the architecture, landscape architecture, engineering and interior design programs at the University of Arkansas will launch a project to make Walker Park a safer, cleaner place for Fayetteville’s families.
“The park manager has asked if we would like to design some benches and trash cans that are very much needed all around the park. We thought that would be a fun project for design-oriented majors!” said Laura Woods, a second-year architecture student who heads the group. Formed one year ago by students who want to make a difference in the community, Re_Vision already has designed and built a new reception area for Seven Hills Homeless Center and organized a conference to explore rebuilding aid for New Orleans. This Saturday, the students will clean up the park and then brainstorm design ideas.
Who: Re_Vision, a group of architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, and interior design students from the University of Arkansas. For more information on Re_Vision, visit http://architecture.uark.edu/revision.html.
Where: Walker Park, 10 W. 15th Street. Sketching exercise will most likely take place in the wooded area along the trail on the west side.
