Search Committee for Dean of Sam M. Walton College of Business Announced

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas has announced the formation of a search committee for the position of dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business. In November, Dean Doyle Z. Williams announced that he will return to the faculty of the Walton College in the summer of 2005 after serving as dean for more than 11 years.

The search committee comprises faculty, staff and students from the university, as well as community and business leaders from the region, and has been appointed by Chancellor John A. White and Provost Bob Smith. Vice Chancellor for University Advancement G. David Gearhart will chair the search committee.

“This committee is charged with the difficult task of replacing someone who has done an extraordinary job of advancing the mission of the University of Arkansas,” Gearhart said. “Doyle Williams has served as an exceptional dean for more than a decade, and under his leadership, the Walton College has excelled and garnered impressive national recognition.
