Razorback Fans Can Vote Again for Game Winning Play and Veterans Scholarships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –University of Arkansas Razorback fans can vote again for Arkansas to win the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year and to support scholarships for U.S. veterans at the university.
The Razorbacks are one of 10 finalists remaining in the competition and need fans votes to advance to the third round. In each of the four rounds, voting totals are reset so each team starts fresh. Four of the 14 original game changing performance finalists were eliminated this week.

Voters picked Casey Dick’s game-winning pass to London Crawford against LSU Nov. 28 as the final winner of the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Week. As a result, the university earned a $5,000 general contribution from Pontiac that was directed by the department of intercollegiate athletics to the university’s newly established veterans scholarship program.
The university is in the process of creating 20 non-renewable scholarship awards, valued at $3,000 each, to be awarded to U.S. veterans who attend the university full- time, beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year.
In the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year contest the winning school will receive a $100,000 dollar scholarship contribution from Pontiac. University vice chancellor and director of intercollegiate athletics Jeff Long has said that if the university wins the $100,000 will also go to the veterans scholarships.
“A contribution like that would be a huge boost for this program, and a great contribution from the athletic department” said university chancellor G. David Gearhart. “The Razorbacks deserve to win this competition on their own merits, but this added incentive gives our fans all the more reason to vote.”
The winner will be announced Jan. 8 during the BCS Championship game.
The Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year recognizes the most dramatic moments that occur in NCAA games across the country, moments that change the outcome of the game or define a season. The program provides fans the opportunity to vote on the performance they believe is the biggest game changer.
