Provost Candidate to Make Public Presentation at University of Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alan F.J. Artibise, one of four candidates for the position of provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas, will visit the campus Tuesday, Oct. 28. He will be interviewed by the 20-member search committee for the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, which is made up of administrators, faculty, staff and student representatives. University Chancellor G. David Gearhart is the committee chair.

Artibise will also make a public presentation at 2 p.m. in Giffels auditorium. All members of the university community and general public are invited to attend.

Artibise is currently the executive dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University. He received his doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia. He is trained as a political scientist and urban historian and is a recognized expert in North American urban development.
