OPEN FORUM SLATED ON CODE OF CONDUCT FOR UNIVERSITY LICENSEES

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas’ Fair Labor and University Licensing Committee will sponsor an open forum from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, in the University Theatre in the Arkansas Union. The public is invited to attend.

Interested individuals and groups are invited to present their views as to how the University should proceed in regard to adopting a code of conduct governing workplace conditions for licensed goods and apparel.

"At our first meeting, the Committee felt it would be best to hear all viewpoints on this important issue," said Bev Lewis, committee chair. "We are looking at codes of conduct proposed by the Collegiate Licensing Company, the Fair Labor Association, the Campus Democracy Collective and we want to be sure that everyone concerned about these issues has an opportunity to speak to the Committee."

Persons wishing to speak should call Ms. Lewis’ office at 479-575-5139 or email her at bev@comp.uark.edu and ask to be put on the agenda. Presentation times for each speaker or group will depend on the number of requests.
