Officials from Rome Visit, Tour UA Campus

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — While the eyes of the world are on Rome, a delegation from Rome will visit the University of Arkansas April 9-12. The visitors represent the Università degli studi Roma Tre, which shares students, faculty and resources with the UA School of Architecture and the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.

The exchange relationship, which is believed to be the only one of its kind, is considered a milestone effort in collaboration between American and Italian universities, developed from the School of Architecture’s 16-year-old Rome study program. Located in a palazzo near the Piazza Navona in the heart of Rome, the University of Arkansas Rome Study Center for Architecture and the Humanities immerses architecture and liberal arts students in an urban environment that records more than 2,500 years of history in its strata.

WHO: Professor Guido Fabiani, rector of the Università degli Studi Roma Tre; Professors Roberto Pujia and Maurizio Ranzi, both delegates for International Relations, Roma Tre; Davide Vitali, director of the University of Arkansas Rome Study Center for Architecture and the Humanities; Dean Jeff Shannon of the School of Architecture; Dean Don Bobbitt of the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences; Associate Dean Charles Adams of Fulbright; and geology professor Tom Paradise.
