FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Office of Admissions recently announced the opening of a regional office in Little Rock. The office will assist central Arkansas students with applying to the University as well as working with the area’s high schools to promote the opportunities available at the state’s flagship institution.

“As a nationally competitive, student-centered, research university, the University of Arkansas Office of Admissions’ focus is to be conveniently located in central Arkansas, to permit greater accessibility by students,” said Dawn Medley, the director of admissions for the University of Arkansas. The new central Arkansas office aligns with University of Arkansas’ five major institutional goals that will better serve Arkansas:

• Strengthening academic quality and reputation by enhancing and developing programs of excellence in teaching, research, and outreach;

• Increasing the size and quality of the student body;

• Enhancing diversity among our faculty, students, and staff;

• Increasing public financial support;

• Increasing private gift support.

Assistant Director Carvis Campbell will staff the office, sharing resources and coordinating outreach activities with high school counselors, community leaders, and others. Campbell has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and holds a master’s degree in public administration from Webster University.
