IT Research Institute to Hold Security Day at University

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Information Technology Research Institute in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, is holding an Information Technology Security Day for IT professionals, faculty and students. An early morning session will focus on industry issues for IT practitioners and faculty. Afterward, the security experts will participate in a question and answer forum for students, faculty and staff from across the University of Arkansas. Students attending are eligible for a drawing for an iPod Shuffle.

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 14

IT Practitioner Forum: 8:30 — 10:30 a.m.

Student Q&A Forum: 10:30 — 11:30 a.m.

Where: Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development Seminar Room A and Auditorium on the University of Arkansas Campus (Parking is available in the UA Parking Garage off Stadium Drive.)

SPEAKERS: Security experts include: Jenny Heiner, computer security engineer, Department of Defense, Air Force Information Warfare Center; Kym Patterson, security officer, State of Arkansas; and Kevin Perry, director of IT infrastructure, Southwest Power Pool.
