HEALTHY EATING COOKBOOK AUTHOR AND UA STUDENT HOLD BOOK SIGNING AT UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS

FAYETTEVILLE - A cookbook signing entitled "East Meets West" will be presented April 18 at the University of Arkansas' Arkansas Union in the Connections Lounge from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring live music and exotic food sampling.

Cookbook author Susan Ang and UA senior Donita Clark have written the book together and will be on-hand to answer questions and provide their signatures.

Ang is author of Secret Vegetarian Recipes form the Orient, A New Adventure in Healthy Eating: Tofu, and is co-author of Nutrition/Excerise: A Simple Approach to Health and Fitness with Dr. Ro DiBrezzo, University of Arkansas professor of exercise science.

Ang holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Dallas Baptist University and is currently working as a registered nurse in the geriatric field. She has taken advanced classes in clinical nutrition at the University of Arkansas and serves in many volunteer capacities - as a board member of the Suzuki Music School, as a member of the local diabetes coalition and as a teacher at the Jones Center for Families.

Clark began her pursuit of a baccalaureate in nutrition as a non-traditional student in the fall of 1997. She graduates next month, at which time she will begin to seek a dietetic internship at a local hospital. She remains active in the Student Dietetic Association and Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society, and currently, she teaches nutrition classes for the UA Cooperative Extension Service. Clark also volunteers at the Northwest Arkansas Cancer Support Home in Fayetteville.
